Women's Basketball Travels to ECU for AAC Matchup

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's basketball team travels to Greenville, N.C. for the first game of a two-game road stretch when the Owls take on East Carolina on Wednesday, Jan. 19 at 6:00 p.m. The game is scheduled to air on ESPN+.

LAST GAME
> Forward Mia Davis scored 20-plus points again for the Owls as the Temple women's basketball team picked up their second conference win over the Houston Cougars.
> The Owls had a strong first half thanks to 14 points from Davis, Temple got in front by eight points at the break. In the second half, the Cougars were never able to take the lead as the Owls pulled out the victory.
> Davis: game-high 22 points and nine rebounds
> Alexa Williamson: 10 points and a game-high three blocks
> Aniya Gourdine: eight points and a game-high six assists

THE OWLS
> Temple is looking to continue their undefeated conference-play record against East Carolina after wins against Cincinnati and Houston.
> Davis has been enjoying a stellar final season for the Owls, averaging 18 points per game while pacing the conference in scoring. Davis has recorded three double-doubles and has scored 20-plus points in five games thus far.
> Williamson has been a key contributor this season for the Owls as the senior has two double-doubles of her own and two 20-plus point performances this season.
> Guards Jasha Clinton and Gourdine lead the backcourt for the Owls in terms of scoring as the two combine for 15.3 points per game.

SCOUTING EAST CAROLINA
> East Carolina is coming off their first win in AAC-play against Cincinnati following three consecutive conference losses against UCF, Tulsa, and SMU.
> The Pirates are led by junior guard Taniyah Thompson who ranks second in the conference in points per game (17).
> Although Thompson is the only player averaging double figures for ECU, the Pirates feature a balanced scoring attack behind Thompson with seven players averaging more than 4.0 points per game. 

LAST TIME THEY MET
> A big second half from Temple lifted the Owls past ECU, 58-57, in a nail-biter.
> Temple had a sluggish first half, keeping it close in the first quarter before ECU ran away with the game.
> The game saw 15 lead changes and seven ties, with the Pirates holding the largest lead of the day (12) in the third quarter.
> Both teams played it tight in the fourth quarter, with neither leading by more than three points.
> The Owls were able to seal the win on a jumper from Davis in the final second of the game.
