Men's Basketball Completes Homestand Tuesday with Vanderbilt

PHILADELPHIA - Fresh off a 68-64 win over #16 Villanova, Temple (1-1) closes out its three-game homestand to open the season Tuesday with Vanderbilt (7 pm/ESPN+/1210 AM WPHT).
SCOUTING TEMPLE
> Temple evened its record with a 68-64 win over #16 Villanova on Nov. 11 at the Liacouras Center.
> Preseason First Team All-American Athletic Conference selection Damian Dunn leads the Owls and the conference in scoring at 25.5 points per game. Â He has led Temple in scoring in both games and currently has made all 22 free throws on the season to lead the nation in FT percentage.
> Preseason Second Team All-AAC Khalif Battle is averaging 18.5 point per game and tallied 21 points against Villanova. Â He leads Temple in three-pointers with six while coming off the bench in both games.
> UCF transfer Jamille Reynolds had a career night against Villanova, posting his first career double-double (14 pts, 12 rebs.) and set a new career-high with his first double-figure rebound game. Â He leads the Owls in rebounding (7.0 rpg) while ranking third in scoring (10.5 ppg)
> Temple has struggled from the field, shooting 38.6 percent from the field and 23.3 percent from three. Â
> The Owls have been exceptional from the line, led by Dunn, and are making 84.3 percent from the charity stripe.

> Vanderbilt has dropped its first two games of the season, falling to AAC member Memphis, 76-67, and then to Southern Mississippi, 60-48.
> Jordan Wright leads a balanced scoring attack, averaging 9.5 points per game. Â He led the Commodores in 6.4 rebounds per game (11th in the SEC) and was second on the team with 12.3 points per game last season.
