23 Owls Named to NFHCA 2021 Division I National Academic Squad

2.8.22 | Field Hockey

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - 23 student-athletes have been named to the NFHCA 2021 Division I National Academic Squad, tying for the second-most honorees of the 80 schools to make the list. This is the second-straight year that more than 20 Owls have been recognized, and it is the most honorees the Owls have had in program history.

Over 1,370 student-athletes from 80 Division I institutions have been named to the 2021 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.

Duke, Fairfield, Cal Berkeley, and the Iowa tied for most National Academic Squad selections this year, with each program placing 24 student-athletes on the list.

Seniors Dani Batze and Annie Judge have earned the honor every year of their Temple field hockey careers.

Three Division I academic awards remain to be announced — the NFHCA Scholars of Distinction will be announced on February 15, the NFHCA National Academic Team awards on February 21, and the National Scholar-Athlete on February 23.
