Temple Field Hockey to Close Out Homestand Against LIU

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple field hockey team will close out its five-game homestand with a midweek matchup against LIU on Thursday, Sept. 7. Originally scheduled for a 3 p.m. start, the game was moved up to 11 a.m. in preparation for what is forecasted to be the hottest day of the year.
Scouting Temple
> The Owls are on a two-game skid, dropping both contests last weekend. The team was shutout in both games.
>Â Temple now sits 2-2 on the season after going undefeated on opening weekend.
> The Cherry and White has been outscored 9-4 through the first four games, conceding six goals to No. 6 Virginia last weekend.Â
> Tess Muller leads the team with a pair of goals, scoring both game-winners on opening weekend. She also leads the team in shots with eight.
> Molly Frey has seen all 240 minutes in the cage, posting 14 of the team's 15 saves for a .609 save percentage.
Scouting LIU
>Â LIU is 0-3 under first year head coach Mike Pallister and will not see a home matchup until hosting Sacred Heart on Sept. 29.
> The Sharks have been shut out twice, scoring their lone goal against UMass Lowell in their season opener.
> The team has been outshot 12-59, with Juana Laskowki's four shots leading the team.
> Two Sharks have seen time in-side the cage, but Fleur Hofman has seen the majority of minutes for the team. Hofman has posted 20 saves and allowed six goals for a 2.18 GAA.
