Opening Tip
The Temple men's basketball team plays its first game of a back-to-back on Friday evening, playing against Florida State in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament in Uncasville, Conn. The action from Mohegan Sun Arena is set to start at 5:00 p.m.

Last Time Out - Temple Suffers Setback at Boston College
The Owls fought back from a double-digit, first half deficit to take a five-point lead in the second before falling just short in a 72-69 loss at Boston College on Friday night. Graduate student Jamal Mashburn Jr. led the Temple with 23 points.

BY THE NUMBERS
• Mashburn Jr. has scored 20 or more points in four straight games, marking the second time in his career he has achieved the feat.
• Gray scored 10 points and recovered five rebounds in his Temple debut.
• Stanford set a career-high with three blocks as Temple recorded a season-high six rejections.
• Durodola shot 5-for-7 from the free-throw line, and finished with seven points and seven boards.

20-20-20-20 Vision
For the fourth consecutive game, Jamal Mashburn Jr. posted 20 or more points, dropping 23 against Boston College. It is the second time in his career he has scored 20+ in four straight and the first time a Temple player has done it since January 28-February 12, 2023.

Shaking Off The Rust
After turning the ball over 16 times in the opener against Sacred Heart, the Owls have held on to the rock, giving it up a total of 23 times in the two games since. The lower numbers
are more along what Temple is used to after finishing in the top-35 nationally last season with 9.9 turnovers per game.

Reunion
Friday will see former college teammates face each other. Both Mohamed Keita for the Owls and Jason Simpson for the Seminoles played for St. John's in the 2022-23 season.

Lights, CAM-era, Action!
The early Signing Day brought two members of the Class of 2025 to the Owls in Cam Wallace and Cam Miles. Wallace is a 4-star recruit from The Westtown School where he was Second Team All-State last season and is closing in on 2,000 career points. Miles is averaging 26.0 PPG for the post-grad team at IMG Academy. The pair has Temple ranked as the top recruiting class in the AAC (Rivals.com and 247Sports) and as high as the No. 48 class in the nation (Rivals.com).

Getting It Started Right
With the win against Sacred Heart, Temple is now 101-28 all-time in season openers. The Owls are also 21-7 in their first game of the year at the Liacouras Center, starting with the building's opening game on December 9, 1997, a 76-61 victory against No. 18 Fresno State.

Scouting Report
The Seminoles enter Friday night with a 4-1 record, recently defeating Hofstra 79-61 from Tallahassee. Redshirt senior guard Jamir Watkins led the team with 17 points while also contributing six rebounds. Watkins currently leads the team in scoring, averaging 18.2 points per game, highlighted by a standout 30-point performance against AAC opponent Rice.

FSU finished last season with a 17-16 record, falling to No. 4 North Carolina in the second round of the ACC Conference Tournament. The Noles were strong on the defensive end last season, ranking 10th in the country in steals per game with an average of 9.8. The team was ranked 15th in the ACC preseason poll, while Watkins earned a spot on the preseason All-ACC Second Team.

The team will lean on a trio of transfers including Bostyn Holt from South Dakota, Jerry Deng from Hampton, and junior college transfer Malique Ewin. Most notably, Malique Ewin joins the Noles after being named the 2024 Junior College Player of the Year after Ewin led South Plains to the WJCAC conference championship and was named as the league's Player
of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and to the All-Conference team

Joining the Seminoles' roster for 2024-25 is a standout group of freshmen led by top-100 recruit Daquan Davis, a dynamic point guard who starred at Overtime Elite. Florida State also adds sharpshooting guard Anastasios Rozakeas from Greece, who led his team to a championship in the Greek Rising Stars U18 tournament, and top-60 recruit AJ Swinton, a versatile wing with a 7'2" wingspan and elite defensive skills.

Head coach Leonard Hamilton is entering his 23rd season leading Florida State, making him the seventh-longest tenured coach in Division I men's basketball. Under his leadership, the Seminoles have qualified for the NCAA Tournament eight times and have had at least one player selected in the NBA Draft in 14 of the past 22 seasons.

All-Time Series Against Florida State
Temple holds a 3-1 series advantage against the Seminoles as the two teams have played sporadically starting in 1992.

Last Time Against The Seminoles
Quinton Rose scored 26 points off the bench as the Owls downed the No. 25 Florida State 89-86 in the Preseason NIT at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Shizz Alston tallied 22 and Obi Enechionyia added 16.

Up Next
It's a quick turnaround for Temple, facing longtime rival UMass on Saturday, November 23 in its second game of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m.
