Zion Stanford was recognized by the coaches in the league as a member of the AAC All-Freshman Team as announced on Tuesday. Stanford is averaging 6.6 points per game with eight games in double figures and is shooting 52.9 percent from the floor for the season.Â
Getting To Know You
UTSA was the last of the first-ever matchups for Temple this season, but the teams are making up for lost time. After never having played in men's basketball before 2023-24, the Owls and Roadrunners will square off for the third time in 24 days when they meet in the AAC First Round on Wednesday.Â

Temple came into the game against UTSA on an impressive run of 10 turnovers or less in seven consecutive games. Sunday against the Roadrunners was something special, however, as TU gave the rock away just two times, one in each half. It matches the third fewest turnovers in a game at any level of NCAA competition this year. Only Denver (vs. South Alabama, 11/17/23) and Northwestern (vs. Minnesota, 3/9/24) had less with one apiece.Â

The two turnovers Temple committed against UTSA on Sunday were its fewest in a game in 39 years, since giving the ball away just two times against Saint Joseph's on January 3, 1985.
Not Settling
Steve Settle III had himself a day on the defensive end against the Roadrunners. He blocked four UTSA shots, the most in a game for a Temple player this season. He also came away with two steals in the contest. Settle is ninth in the AAC with 1.7 steals per game and is 13th at 0.9 swats a contest.Â
Scouting Report
UTSA enters 11-20 overall with a 5-13 mark in the American and is coming off an 84-82 loss against Temple on March 10.
Leading the offense for UTSA is Jordan Ivy-Curry at 17.1 points per game. Christian Tucker and Carlton Linguard, Jr. are also around double figures, tallying 11.2 and 9.5 a night, respectively. Linguard tops the team in rebounding at 5.9 a contest with Trey Edmonds close behind at 5.8. Tucker leads the AAC and is in the top-35 nationally with 169 assists.Â

Steve Henson is in his eighth season as the head coach of UTSA with a record of 110-143. His best year came in 2017-18 when he guided the team to a 20-15 mark.
