STORRS, Conn. – The Temple field hockey team gave the No. 14 UConn Huskies all they could handle, but the Huskies tallied a pair of second half goals, as the Owls were upended 2-0 in the BIG EAST opener for both teams on Friday afternoon.

- Isabella Ospitale made a career-high five saves in the contest.
- Shots were relative even with UConn holding a slight 10-7 advantage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UConn had the better of the play in the first quarter, but Ospitale was up to the challenge, stopping three shots in the frame.
- In the second, the advantage moved Temple's way as the Owls outshot the Huskies 4-1, nearly taking the lead when a well-executed penalty corner resulted in a shot off the post.
- UConn took the lead in the third quarter on a rebound and added to the tally midway through the fourth.
