Field Hockey Starts Southern Swing at No. 3 Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Temple field hockey team traveled I-95 for the first of two games down south, opening with a 7-0 setback against No. 3 Virginia on Friday night.
Despite trailing 1-0 at the end of 15 minutes, it was the Owls who pressed the offensive attack in the opening quarter, outshooting the Cavaliers 6-3 and drawing four penalty corners in the frame.
UVA started to pull away in the second period, scoring three times. The Cavaliers methodically added to the lead in the second half to create the final score.
Temple returns to action on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. when it travels to the University of Richmond.
