Temple Secures Second Place Finish at the UNC Quad Meet

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Temple Owls finished second in a highly competitive matchup at the UNC Quad Meet with a team score of 195.375, their highest of the season. Only #21 UNC (196.500) was able to eclipse Temple, with Penn (194.975) and Yale (193.050) falling short. Renee Schugman led the Owls, finishing eighth in all-rounders with three exhibitions, fourth of those with the same amount of events.
ROTATION 1 (BARS: 49.025)
- The Owls started off the meet with a round of season-highs in individual performances, as well as a team-high 49.025, beating the record set in the previous meet against Bowling Green (48.875).
- Reese DeHaan kicked off the quad meet with a season-high score of 9.775.
- Megan White and Hannah Weklar also delivered career-highs with 9.825 and 9.850, respectively.
- Sarah Stallings and Mariella Brueck shined as they provided an impressive 9.825 and 9.750 to round off the first rotation for the Owls.
- Temple scored a 48.975, their second highest of the season, only surpassed by 49.200 at the Towson Quad Meet (1/31).
- Schugman performed first for the Owls, scoring a solid 9.725.
- Megan White and Brooke Donabedian tied their second-best scores this season with 9.800 and 9.850, respectively.
- Robyn Dunne brought a career- and meet-high of 9.900, beating her previous high of 9.875 from Towson (1/31).
- Nikki Rengifo and Kyrstin Johnson gave stellar performances, with a season-high for Renegifo (9.775) and a second-highest score for Johnson (9.800).
- Renee Schugman followed up with a season-high 9.825.
- Donabedian followed Schugman and was able to tie her score, just shy of her own season high of 9.850 from Bowling Green (2/21).
- Temple finished their rotations with their second-highest team score, just shy of their 48.875 performance at Towson (1/31).
- Amelia Budd gave the Owls a strong start to the rotation, receiving a 9.800, a season-high for her.
- Renegifo was able to tie the meet-high while getting her best score of the season (9.850).
- Weklar, Schugmann, and Summer Ruskey provided solid performances with 9.750, 9.750, and 9.725, respectively, a season-high for Ruskey.
- Temple returns to McGonigle Hall for School Day/Superhero Day, hosting Maryland on Wednesday, March 5, at 12:00 p.m.
