Gymnastics to Host Maryland for School Day/Superhero Day

PHILADELPHIA - Temple gymnastics is set to host a dual meet, facing off against University of Maryland. This will be the team's School/Superhero Day and will begin at 12:00 PM in McGonigle Hall.
VAULT Â
Temple wrapped up their rotations with their second-highest team score of the season, 48.850, at the UNC Quad Meet. Amelia Budd set the tone with a season-high 9.800, while Rengifo delivered a standout performance, tying the meet-high with a career-best 9.850. Hannah Weklar and Renee Schugmann each contributed solid 9.750s, and Summer Ruskey capped off the lineup with a season-best 9.725. Â
BARS Â
Temple opened the meet with a dominant performance, setting a season-high team score of 49.025 and surpassing their previous best of 48.875 against Bowling Green. Reese DeHaan kicked off the quad meet with a season-high 9.775, while Megan White and Hannah Weklar posted career-best scores of 9.825 and 9.850, respectively. Sarah Stallings added a strong 9.825, and Mariella Brueck rounded the lineup with a solid 9.750.
BEAM Â
Temple posted a 48.975, their second-highest score of the season, just behind their 49.200 performance at the Towson Quad Meet on Jan. 31. Renee Schugman set the pace with a solid 9.725, while Megan White and Brooke Donabedian matched their second-best scores of the season with a 9.800 and 9.850, respectively. Robyn Dunne headlined the event with a career- and meet-high 9.900, surpassing her previous best of 9.875 from Towson.
FLOOR Â
Temple delivered a strong performance on the floor, with three gymnasts earning at least a 9.800. Nikki Rengifo posted a season-high 9.775, while Kyrstin Johnson followed with a 9.800, her second-best score of the season. Renee Schugman and Brooke Donabedian matched scores with season-high 9.825s, with Donabedian just shy of her 9.850 from Bowling Green on Feb. 21.
SCOUTING MARYLAND
Maryland posted a season-best 196.125 at the Big Four Meet, finishing third behind No. 13 Minnesota (196.625) and No. 15 Michigan (196.300). The Terps set a season-high 49.275 on bars, leading all teams, with Hailey Merchant and Rhea LeBlanc earning 9.875s. Vault also saw a season-best 49.250, highlighted by Natalie Martin's 9.900 and freshman Rayna Engelmayer 9.850. Maryland closed on the floor, where LeBlanc led with a 9.875, and sophomore Lauren Brendlinger notched a career-high 9.850.

The Owls will return to action on Mar. 7 at 7:00 PM for the Rutgers Meet in Piscataway, NJ, where they will compete against Cornell, Rutgers, and Southern Connecticut State.
