Katie Madamba is in her second year with the Temple women’s soccer staff as a graduate assistant coach.  Before arriving at Temple, Madamba successfully completed a 3-year accelerated bachelor of arts in elementary education program at West Virginia University.  Madamba will work towards her master’s degree in educational leadership while at Temple.

Madamba suffered a soccer career ending injury her senior year of high school.  While at WVU, Madamba was a coxswain on WVU’s women’s varsity rowing team.  In her second year at WVU, she coxed the varsity 4+ ‘B’ crew to a medal at the Philadelphia Frostbite Regatta.  In her first year, she coxed the novice 4+ crew to a first place finish at the Occoquan Sprints.

In the classroom, Madamba was named to the WVU Student-Athlete Garrett Ford Academic Honor Roll, the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll, and the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

A native of Mays Landing, NJ, Madamba spent most of her youth soccer career under the tutelage of Coach Seamus O’Connor on his Pittsgrove Irish girls soccer team.  Madamba was also a four-year varsity letter winner at Holy Spirit High School in Absecon and a team captain her senior year.  She received an honorable mention in the 2011 Cape-Atlantic League Fall Sports All-Stars.
