STORRS, CT - In its season opener at Connecticut, the Temple field hockey team lost 2-0 to the Huskies, ranked fifth in the nation in the NFHCA Preseason Coaches Poll.

Temple's best chance came late in the second period when it was awarded a penalty stroke opportunity, but came up empty when Kasey Ruth's shot sailed wide of the cage.
The Owls will be in action again on Sunday, Aug. 30 in their home opener against St. Francis (Pa.) at 5:00 p.m. The game will be played at Drexel's Buckley Field due to ongoing construction at Temple's Geasey Field.Box Score
