Owls and Terps were originally scheduled to play Sunday

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple field hockey team will face top-ranked Maryland on Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Geasey Field in a game that was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon. The Terps (1-0) and the Owls (1-0) postponed their contest due to Hurricane Irene. Admission is $4.00 or free with a Temple ID.

The game will be the last of four as part of the Conference Cup tournament. Both Temple and Maryland are 1-0 as the Owls took down Bucknell, 4-0, and Maryland beat No. 19 Boston University, 3-1.

Senior Bridget Settles led Temple with a hat trick in the season-opening win, and the Owls got a fourth goal from senior Carissa Young. Maryland senior Jemma Buckley led the Terps with all three of her team's goals.

Maryland owns the all-time series between the two teams with a record of 13-7-2. This is the first meeting between the Terps and the Owls since 2007. Maryland is the defending NCAA champion and has won four of the last six national titles (2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010).
