The first goal of the match came just five minutes into the game as Youtz came up with a big tackle just inside the 25-yard line. Youtz then passed the ball to Foran, who finished on the left side of the goal for the first tally.
After a penalty corner given in the 12th minute, Villanova struck back with a goal from Andrea Conte off a pass from Laura Wilson taking advantage of the scramble in the box for the visitors lone goal.
Delp then scored five minutes later off a feed from Taylor Shronk which was set up by Rachel Steinman.

"Everyone really did their role and stepped up today," Temple coach Amanda Janney said in regards to the victory. "It's a strong start for us."
