NORFOLK, Va. - After coming back from a two-goal deficit, #16 Temple was unable to take a lead and #19 Old Dominion scored the only goal of the second half to win 3-2. The loss was the first in BIG EAST play for the Owls (10-5, 2-1), while ODU improves to 8-6 overall and 2-1 in the conference.

Senior Amber Youtz and junior Alyssa Delp both scored for the Owls, and Delp finished the game with three points after also assisting on Youtz's goal.

The Monarchs scored on two of their first three shots in the game to take a 2-0 lead in the first 12 minutes and 15 seconds. The first goal from Nicole Goff came less than four minutes into the game, and teammate Katy Fuhrman scored in the 13th minute.

The Owls kept their composure, and on their next shot in the 23rd minute, Youtz got one back on a long shot from the right side off an assist from Delp.

Three minutes later, Delp came up big again and tied up the game with 11 minutes left in the first half.

ODU finished with six shots on goal to Temple's five in the first half, and senior Lizzy Millen made four first-half saves for the Owls as the 2-2 tie stood through halftime.

Neither team had as many opportunities in the second half, but it was the Monarchs who took advantage on their first corner. Caitlin Walsh scored on the play for ODU with 13:30 remaining, and it would prove to be the only goal of the second half. The Owls were unable to get a shot off the rest of the game.

Both teams finished with seven shots on goal, but ODU's Megan Hept made five saves to give her team the edge.

Temple will have a quick turnaround before playing again tomorrow at William & Mary in a non-conference contest at 2:00 p.m.
