HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Temple field hockey team opened its road slate with a win Sunday afternoon, topping James Madison 2-1. This is the first win for the Owls over the Dukes.

Recapping the Game
> Temple fired the lone shot of the first frame, with Tess Muller's attempt at the 53-second mark being blocked.
> JMU struck first, converting a penalty corner less than five minutes into the second frame.
> The Owls found the equalizer out of the break, converting a penalty corner of their own as Lina Neilson sent it in on a pass from Alizé Maes and Caitlyn Amsden at the 41-minute mark.
> Kate Miller found the go-ahead goal in the final frame, deflecting a pass from Muller to seal the win.

Statistically Speaking
> Temple outshot the Dukes 11-8, putting six on target. Miller and Amber Hofenk Jerembo led the team with a pair of shots each.
> The Owls also won the corner battle 7-5.
> Molly Frey recorded three saves.
> Miller and Neilson each recorded their first career goals in Cherry and White.
